Brazilian Beef/Carne Brasileira

After moving to Sao Paulo, Brazil as an expat, it did not take too long to get addicted to Brazilian Beef. It is wordlessly lovely. Main species of beef in Brazil is called Nelore, characterized by big hump on its back and smaller body size than Angus or Hereford popular in the US.


Its mouthfeel is slightly stiff, less fatty, and very rich in typical “flesh and blood” flavor. What really fascinated me are daintiness of picanha (”rump cap”), and cupin(the hump). My appetite really goes out of control when these meats are served at churrasco restaurant, but don’t get surprised by the amount on the bill: they are not cheap!


To my personal view Brazilian beef is the world’s best, exceeding A5 quality Wagyu(For me personally, Wagyu is a bit too much fatty. And I really don’t like being cut into dice size)
